Indigenous Languages for Children

WINTER 2024 LANGUAGE COURSES:

Registrations are open until January 9
Classes start the week of January 15

These introductory workshops are intended to provide an opportunity for Indigenous children with no prior experience to learn their languages and will help Indigenous children with little knowledge to improve or maintain their languages and identity.

Children’s classes are geared towards children 6 to 12 years old.

Play and informal learning is the pedagogical approach, we make learning their language fun!

The course format:

• 11 classes of 1.5 hours per class

• Fall Semester duration: January 16 - April 2 2023

• Location: Onsite at Native Montreal

• Free classes financed by the Government of Quebec and McConnell Foundation

• Material will be provided by Native Montreal

• Small groups of 10 to 15 children per class

• Inuktitut level 1 / Saturdays 10:00am-11:30am

4. Complete creating your account

5. You should now be able to register for our courses without issue.

Only one application is accepted per semester, so please choose carefully which course you are interested in the most.
