Cultural and Educational Resources

At Native Montreal, our mission since 2014 has been to contribute to the holistic health, cultural strength, and success of Indigenous families, individuals, and communities in the greater Montreal area. While our focus remains on providing a safe place for youth, families, and more, we do not offer the following services outside of our organization:

Awareness and Educational Workshops

Please note that Native Montreal does not offer workshops on Indigenous realities or points of view to teachers, schools, companies, or other organizations. However, we invite you to begin your own research by visiting Mikana’s resource page. Alternatively, you can download our education guide (part 1 and part 2) to better understand how teachers can support Indigenous students in their classrooms.

Cultural Workshops

While we do not offer craft workshops outside of our organization directly, we can connect you with knowledgeable members, or “knowledge keepers,” who may be interested in collaborating with you.

To proceed, please provide details of your proposed workshop, including:

  • Date and time

  • Honorarium

  • Expected number of attendees

  • Any specific requirements or themes

You can send this information to our Cultural Coordinator, Danika St-Laurent via email at culture@nativemontreal.com. Our Cultural Coordinator will review your proposal and facilitate communication with potential knowledge keepers to explore collaboration opportunities.

Please note that we respect the privacy of our knowledge keepers and do not share their contact information without their consent. Instead, we will forward your request to the appropriate knowledge keepers based on your area of interest, and they will reach out to you at their discretion.

We also invite you to consult Concordia University's Protocols for Elders and Indigenous Communities to determine the honorarium amount.
