Kane'ko:ta (Steps)
A First Nations Regional Adult Education Center adult education program
Kane'ko:ta is an Adult Education Program created for urban Indigenous learners
This program was created by the First Nations Regional Adult Education Center to support Indigenous people living in the Montreal region to successfully obtain their D.E.S. (Basic High School Diploma) Certificate of completed secondary studies in general education in a culturally safe program. Students can learn at their pace and will be supported by a teacher at every step.
More about the program
The program is run by the First Nations Regional Adult Education Center in collaboration with LaSalle College by providing classrooms in downtown Montreal at 2000 Saint-Catherine St W Montreal.
The purpose of the program is to offer high-quality adult education services in the Tio'tia:ke/Montreal urban area, including essential support services, to create opportunities for academic upgrading, semi-skilled trades, and employment opportunities for an urban Indigenous population.
