Cultural Program
The cultural program at Native Montreal consists of our craft workshops and circles, traditional workshops and seasonal events such as our fall, winter and spring festivals, as well as our National Indigenous Peoples' Day celebrations.
Craft Workshops
Our weekly Craft Workshops allow individuals to explore, reconnect, exchange knowledge and learn different indigenous artistic techniques such as embroidery, beadwork, leatherwork, etc. Native Montreal provides materials and projects. Participants need no level of expertise, just an open mind and a willingness to listen, watch and learn.
This activity is free of charge and by registration only.
Workshops are held every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the center.
For any cancellations, please notify us in advance by emailing culture@nativemontreal.com or calling us at (514) 331-6587 ext. 204.
As these spaces are limited and in high demand, we request that you only register for workshops you intend to attend. Failure to attend without prior notice may result in automatic placement on the waiting list for future workshops.
Who can participate in the Craft Workshops?
Our workshops are open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous members, but spaces are limited, so we follow a priority system for registrations. To register for the weekly workshops, you must first:
Be a member of Native Montreal.
Reside in the greater Montreal area.
Complete the monthly sign-up form (please use the button below to register).
Priority List for Registration:
Indigenous members (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis).
Non-Indigenous members connected to an Indigenous person (e.g., foster care, parent, children, partner).
Non-Indigenous members working with the community (e.g., social workers, nurses).
Non-Indigenous members.
This setup ensures that we prioritize community needs while welcoming everyone interested in learning and participating.
*Please note that the registration form for next month’s Craft Workshops will only be made available the day after the last workshop of the current month ends.
Traditional workshops
Our traditional craft workshops enable individuals to explore, reconnect, exchange knowledge and learn different traditional crafts such as skirt making, ribbon shirt making, drum making, moccasin making and more. Native Montreal supplies the materials and proposes the projects.
This activity is free of charge and by registration only.
Traditional workshops are held twice a month on Sundays. Times vary from workshop to workshop.
Who can participate in Traditional workshops?
Our Traditional workshops are reserved for Indigenous members and for non-Indigenous members who are directly connected to an Indigenous person (e.g., foster care, parent). This approach respects the cultural space needed for these workshops while recognizing the role of non-Indigenous family members connected to the community.
To register, please ensure you:
Are a member of Native Montreal.
Reside in the greater Montreal area.

*Please note that the registration form for next month’s Traditional Workshops will only be made available the day after the last workshop of the current month ends.
Craft Circles
Our Craft Circles are a space to work on your own projects, in a group setting. Whether you'd like to work on your own project or continue working on a project you learned in our workshops, you're all welcome! Native Montreal provides circle participants with materials for beading, embroidery, sewing and more or you can bring your own!
This activity is free of charge and no registration is required!
Circles are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the center.

Who can participate in the Craft Circles?
Our Craft Circles are open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous members, offering a group setting for individual projects. While non-Indigenous members are welcome to join, it is essential to understand that participation is a privilege, not a right. This space is intended to be a culturally safe environment for our Indigenous members, and respect for this intention is crucial.
